He expectantly waited,
darkness all around
He was anxious to go
and knew it would be soon
For upwards he looked
as a brightness shone by
And he marveled
at the light of the moon
He quickly ran down
the first path he found
Astounded by the world
he thought he could see
From the reflections from
a house on top of a hill
To the stars in the sky
behind the outline of a tree
Although he was impressed
by the ensuing sights
Something was missing,
still hidden in the night
His vision was too limited
for this world to be right
Where could he go
to find a much brighter light
Then out of the darkness
there appeared a soft glow
As he watched her come closer
she gave him a smile
Speaking softly she wondered,
"Where is your light?"
"I have none" he replied,
"Can we share for awhile?"
At first they struggled
to share the one light
For he would pass her,
then she would pass him
Together they learned
at what pace they should go
To keep the light bright
and not let it get dim
And together they reached
the house on the hill
"Come In" she said,
"For this place is now ours"
He opened the gate
and followed her through
There were leaves on the trees
all covered with flowers
A Child came running
and leaped into his arms
"I love you" she declared,
"Now, you're no longer alone"
Then a dazzling light
burst from his soul
Gone was the darkness and
the house was a home
He reached for the lady
taking her hand
"What a wonderful thing
you have done
For I used to marvel
at the light of the moon
And now
you have shown me the sun"
When we first achieve our initial freedom - from school, our parents - we tend to charge into the outside world to discover what we have been missing.
For awhile we are enthralled by the new things we encounter but eventually we realize something is missing - love.
During the ‘meeting and getting to know you’ stages of a courtship and marriage your surroundings will seem brighter, more musical, joyous and even confusing.
But when your child is born a whole new world will spring into existence. Your heart will feel things you never felt possible and you will see the true beauty of this world.
